OLX is one of the world's leading classifieds platforms, providing a dynamic online marketplace for local communities in high-growth markets. It allows people to buy, sell or exchange used goods and services quickly and easily, whether via a cell phone or a computer.

Every month, millions of people around the world use OLX to find and sell a wide range of products, from computers and cell phones to furniture, sporting goods, cars, real estate and much more. OLX connects people, allowing sellers to earn extra money by advertising items they no longer use, while buyers find great products at affordable prices.

OLX is a useful platform that stimulates the local economy and promotes the reuse of second-hand items, reducing waste and supporting environmental sustainability.

CHALLENGE

Helping users make informed decisions while promoting growth

OLX needed to boost its existing blog with high-quality, comprehensive content that would help users make more informed purchasing decisions. The blog was a key resource for presenting the range of products available on the platform, but it lacked the depth needed to position OLX as an authoritative voice in product reviews and buyer's guides.

In addition, OLX needed a content strategy that would attract more qualified traffic to its platform, while answering common questions and concerns from users. At the same time, they wanted to increase their presence on Google by optimizing the platform's content to appear for strategic keywords that would drive more relevant visitors to their market. The overall goal was to increase user trust, strengthen brand authority and increase organic traffic to their listings.

Another layer of this challenge was the Business Academy Blog, which targets professional advertisers who use OLX. The brand needed to replicate the success of its consumer blog for this professional audience, creating highly relevant and engaging content tailored to advertisers, while ensuring that the SEO strategy was equally robust.

SOLUTION

Improving the platform's blog and content strategy

We started by focusing on what was most important - organizing the site's content so that users could easily find what they were looking for, while also making the experience engaging and approachable.

Creating specialized content for B2C and B2B audiences

Considering the diverse needs of consumers and business users, we developed specialized content tailored to each group. For B2C, the content focused on user-friendly tips and practical buying advice, while for B2B, we highlighted industry trends, ROI-oriented recommendations and detailed product reviews to position OLX as a trusted resource for both audiences.

SEO optimization

Each article was optimized for SEO, focusing on high-intent keywords related to OLX's product categories. We carefully researched the most searched questions that reflected users' buying concerns, to ensure that the content addressed them and was visible in relevant search results. Technical SEO improvements were also made to ensure that the content performed well in search rankings, optimizing mobile responsiveness, page speed and user experience across all devices.

Video marketing for product reviews

To increase engagement and provide more complete information, we introduced video marketing to our product reviews. These videos feature in-depth visual demonstrations and expert commentary to help users make informed decisions by seeing products in action and understanding their key benefits first-hand.

Content maintenance

We have updated the existing blog posts with more in-depth and well-researched product reviews and buying guides, focusing on a wide variety of products available on the OLX platform. The content is designed to establish OLX as an expert in its sector, covering the main product categories and guiding users through their buying journey with product selections tailored to various needs and preferences.

RESULTS

Achieving unprecedented organic traffic and search positioning

Our approach resulted in major improvements in several key performance indicators. At the end of the campaign, OLX recorded:

  • An 11x increase in organic clicks, demonstrating the success of SEO optimization in getting more traffic to the platform.

  • A 13x increase in impressions, demonstrating that OLX's content was appearing in more search results, attracting a wider audience.

  • An improvement in the platform's average position on Google by 5 places, meaning that its content appeared in higher positions in search results, which improved visibility and credibility.

These results reflect the success of OLX's investment in content and SEO strategy, which has positioned the platform as a trusted resource for buying and selling a wide variety of products.
